CAUTION!

Low tire pressure makes for unfamiliar vehicle handling. Never deflate your tires unless you have a way to reinflate them to the pressure recommended by your vehicle or tire manufacturer. Compressed air (all gases) presents several hazards. Always use protective eyewear when setting or using your Coyote Automatic Tire Deflators. Never adjust or completely remove the Adjustment Cap from the Body while screwed on an inflated tire. This will shoot parts out of the deflator Body and may result in serious injury including blindness and/or death.

WHAT DO COYOTE AUTOMATIC TIRE DEFLATORS DO

When screwed onto any standard tire valve stem, Coyote Automatic Tire Deflators start deflating your tire to the destination pressure that you have set. Then, automatically, they shut OFF at your destination pressure. Your Destination pressure is the pressure that you air down to.

HOW DO THEY WORK

The patented Coyote Automatic Tire Deflators are spring loaded check valves with the ability to vary the spring force via the Adjustment Cap. More (CW) Spring force means a higher shut OFF destination pressure. Less (CCW) Spring force means a lower destination pressure. All Coyote Automatic Tire Deflators are guaranteed to cover a destination pressure range of 1 to 65 PSI.

To securely lock your Adjustment Cap setting in place, with peace of mind, forever, tighten the Lock Collar securely up against the Adjustment Cap with open end or crescent wrench-like tools. Never use pinching tool like pliers or vice grips. This may distort the parts within the Body and cause the deflator to malfunction. This voids the warranty. In contrast, some other brands with knurled caps and collars may lose their setting after just a couple of trips by virtue of only being able to lock the cap and collar together by hand. Using any tool on these voids the warranty.

DESTINATION PRESSURE REPEATABILITY

Coyote Automatic Tire Deflators are unbelievably reliable and repeatable. We have proved this with ongoing, lifecycle tests. In those tests, the destination (OFF) pressure has not varied by more than ±0.2 PSI and no deflator has ever failed. Typical test cycles are 50,000 to 100,000 cycles. That’s equivalent to airing down every single day for 137 to 274 years, hence of confident Life Time Warranty.

Here’s how this test fixture works:

The tank F is the “tire”. An unseen compressor, via the red hose (middle right) delivers air to the automated test fixture.

Each test cycle is automatically controlled by the event timer, I (lower right). It connects to two things: The ON/OFF pressure switch H and the electric air solenoid valve G. This combo fills tank F.

Deflator C automatically turns ON, empties the tank, pauses and then starts the whole cycle again and again and again. The deflator’s Piston movement is tracked by the dial indicator A.

The number of cycles is counted by the digital event counter D. Tank pressure is reported by gauge B, (6”, 2%, 0 to 60 PSI). Gauge E show tank pressure digitally.

TEMPERATURE INCREASE PRESSURE ADJUSTMENTS

As tires warm up, the pressure increases (see https://www.coyoteents.com/temperature-and-tire-pressure/). To pick up that increase from a cold morning air down to a midafternoon, summer lunch break, just screw the Coyotes back on the valve stems and pull the Manual Start Rings. Then, wait for them to shut OFF. Expect only a few seconds of air flow since the pressure increase is typically only a couple of PSI.

SIDE HOLE

The Side Hole is where the tire air comes out. The Coyotes are so finely designed, just holding your hand or finger (or anything) in the air flow may affect the shut OFF pressure. Keep everything out of the exhaust air flow path. Even touching the Start Ring may change the shut OFF pressure. Keep clear of that, too.

QUICK CHUCK

The Quick Chuck is like a valve cap with fewer threads. Installation and removal is about twice as fast as all other brands. Plus, it starts letting air out immediately resulting in quicker air downs.

REFERENCE MARK

This nifty little mark makes it a breeze to keep track of partial or numerous turns of the Adjustment Cap.

WHAT DO YOU GET IN A SET OF COYOTE DEFLATORS

You get everything you need to adjust, store and use the Coyote Automatic Tire Deflators. They are sold in sets of four deflators CED456 and sets of two deflators CED246, and both are accompanied by a carrying case, the Quick set instruction card, an alternate set of springs, a 3” Coyote sticker and the best part of all, a LIFETIME WARRANTY*.

IMPORTANT TIP!

Use valve caps! Un-capped valve stems accumulate dirt in the exposed valve stem. At air down time, that dirt enters the deflator and may cause it to malfunction, jamb or open at all. However, that is easily overcome. Simply disassemble and clean per Cleaning Coyote Automatic Tire Deflators.
